A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.

About this process
L’Ajuntament de Palau-solità i Plegamans, juntament amb la Diputació de Barcelona, impulsa un procés participatiu obert a entitats i ciutadania per contribuir a l’elaboració del nou Pla Local de Seguretat.
L’objectiu és construir un model de seguretat compartit, basat tant en dades objectives com en les percepcions i experiències de la ciutadania, per tal de millorar la convivència, la prevenció i el benestar al municipi.
El procés inclou diferents fases de participació: informació i diagnosi, recollida de propostes, deliberació i priorització de mesures.
Hi poden participar persones a títol individual, entitats, comerços i agents socials.
Les aportacions recollides seran analitzades tècnicament i es tindran en compte en la redacció final del Pla Local de Seguretat.
